August 21st 2010, Emmy was baptized! It was a very special day that couldn't have gone any better! She looked beautiful and was so thrilled to have all her family and friends there to share her special day!
Emmy was so excited to finally be getting baptized!
Emmy sang "Where is Heaven" and wasn't even nervous! She definitely has a talent for singing, she did so well!
Her Uncle Cameron gave the talk on baptism and taught her how at first we are like an egg, white and pure. But then through out live we make mistakes, he had her color on the egg to represent all the sins we make. Then taught her just like when you peel the egg and it becomes white again, when you are baptized all your sins are washed away and you are clean again. She loved that analogy! And it was a fun way to teach an important lessen. Haydenn got to enjoy the egg and ate the whole thing!
Emmy and Mom
Rylenn, Tucker, Emmy, and Haydenn, the best kids in the whole world!
Both of her grandpa's were the witnesses, and her Aunt Sawyer and little brother Tucker gave the prayers. It was a really good baptism where the spirit was so strong! I bawled the whole time! Partly because I can't believe she is eight and baptized, but mostly because the spirit was so strong! It was undeniable that she was making a righteous choice, and that our Heavenly Father was so proud of her!
We had gone to the church early so that Emmy could practice her song, well after she was done and we were getting ready to start the program Haydenn decided it was her turn to sing. She just stood up at the front and kept announcing to everyone "I sing, I sing". We had to grab her a few times and try to explain to a 2 year old that it wasn't her turn to sing! Then when Josh and Emmy went into the water, Haydenn with all the rest of the kids were kneeling at the front, Haydenn kept shouting, "Hi Dad, Hi Emmy" over and over. Then when Josh baptised Emmy she yelled for everyone to hear, "Oh No Daddy"! We all laughed! She just knew that Josh was going to be in trouble for dunking Emmy!
Me and Emmy had the funnest time taking pictures in her baptism dress!
Most of all I want Emmy to know how much I love her! And how proud of her I am! I think that being the oldest I sometimes expect a lot out of her and don't tell her enough how grateful I am for the person she is! Emmy is an amazing girl, and who on a daily basis teaches me life lessons that I should be teaching her! We are so blessed to have her in our family and ex specially to have her as our oldest child, who sets such an amazing example for the rest of our kids! I love you Emmy and hope you will always know that!
This is one of my favorite pics, its the one we used on her program!
Beautiful Girl!
