It's not so bad!

Turning 30!

For all of you 20 somethings that are dreading the day that you turn 30 I'm here to tell you that, it's not so bad!

I actually had a very good day! Josh has been working out of town on the Thatcher temple so he is usually gone from Monday till Thursday night. This year my birthday fell on Thursday. Well Wednesday night he called me saying how excited he was for my birthday. He told me that my presents were hidden all over the house and that I was going to have to go on a hunt to find them.

I thought he had just come up with this grand plan that day. That when he had bought my presents and put them away it just happened to be that they were all over the house and now he was going to use it to his advantage to make it look like he had this planned all along.

Well the next morning he called first thing to tell me Happy Birthday and when I was done talking to him Tucker met me in the hall with the first of my gifts. It was one of those cool new hymn books with the pictures to go along with the hymns. It was from my Mother in Law! I loved it. It can sit on my piano and still look nice!

So I went about my day pretty much like normal, fixing lunch, changing diapers, picking up toys, doing dishes, and so on. Well about mid day I get another phone call from Mr. Super man himself (Josh) and he tells me to go into our closet, which I did and then to shut the door. On the back of the door was a note telling me that I could go ahead and get the sewing machine that I had been saving for. I was so excited!

Wow he really did have this all planned out. I was so impressed and so touched that he had went to the trouble to get things all done so I could have a good birthday.

He even had arranged it so that he would get off early on Thursday and be home in time to take me out on my birthday. When he got home he had the kids meet him in the garage and they carried in my last gift.
Yes it was a Kitchen aid! I have wanted one of these for a couple of years now, but we have never been able to afford it. Every time Josh would do a side job he would bring me the money to deposit but he would always keep a little that I didn't know about. And now thanks to his thoughtfulness I got my kitchen aid!

The rest of the night was spent on a much needed date with my husband. I'm very grateful to my husband who never stops making me feel loved and appreciated! I know that I'm very lucky and have a one of a kind! And I know that all of the other husbands out there are going to be very mad that he has set the bar so high, but come on guys the challenge is on! Make sure your wife feels extra special on her birthday just like mine did!

I'm a little behind in posting so for those of you who are wondering my birthday is actually May 14th. Lots more catch up posts to come!

Are you kiding me!

Most moms would agree that being a mother of a little boy takes a strong stomach! But with Tucker all I can do is count my blessings that I was blessed with a very strong stomach!

Just after I finished my post about how I think Tucks arm is fine, The kids had gone outside to play and I was enjoying the quietness and folding clothes. Tucker comes in from outside and says, Mom I've got blood every where! WHAT? Sure enough I look over and his foot is dripping blood! He knows exactly what to do and sits on the tile and holds his hand under to catch all the blood he can. I'm cleaning it up trying to figure out where he is cut and asking him what happened. Well he tells me that he was playing with Josh's tools and dropped one on his toe. OUCH! I could see that he had sliced his second toe from the top of the toe nail to almost the back of the toe. He just had this flap on the top of his toe, the part that was a little squeamish was that I could see what I thought was a big rock stuck under his flap, so I had to peel back the flap to try to get the rock out! Meanwhile it is still bleeding everywhere! The weird thing was that the flap didn't go over the rock it was like it got pushed back down into his toe. Well as I was looking at it and trying to figure out how that could happen and wondering if it really was a rock, the bleeding slowed down a little and I could tell that it looked more like just a blood blister then a rock. But what I'm a little worried about is that it is really hard, not like a blister. I'm pretty sure it is a blister but i guess we'll just watch it and maybe when his toe isn't so sore I can look at it again. And for all of you who are worried that his little toe may need some stitches, don't worry I've been to the ER with him on this one before and they told me that as long as he has a flap and that it is a good clean cut it should heal fine on its own. So no worries just a band aid and some Neosporin and we are good, till the next time!

Update

Just a quick update on Tucker for all of you who have been wondering. I have a great sister-in-law who is an ex ray tech. She said she would ex ray it for me the next time she went back to work if I wanted her to, which was Friday. Well he went the rest of the week never complaining that it hurt. So I think he is fine!

That same night that I posted about Tucks arm he got a huge migraine headache, so I'm kind of wondering if that headache that was coming on was making all of the other bruises in his body hurt as well. Who knows? but for now I think he is fine! Thanks for every ones concern and thoughts! It's nice to know that someone else can relate!

Dr, NO Dr? Exray or NO Exray?

I can't tell you how tired I am of having this conversation in my head! Take them to the Dr. or wait it out, how is anyone suppose to know?

So here is my dilemma, last week when I was at Women's Conference (which I had a blast at and will post about later!) Tucker got bucked off of Jesse. Yes he got bucked off, not just slipped off the horse got spooked and wanted Tucker off! Josh says he hung on for a long time but eventually it was more then he could take and off he went. Josh says that he thought right away that he had broke his arm but decided to wait to see how things went. He also decided to wait to tell me about it till I got home. If he had told me that night on the phone I would have insisted that he take him to the Dr. to have it ex rayed and I wouldn't be in this situation right now!! Well he said that night he babied it and was up through out the night complaining that it hurt. But that the next day he seamed to be better. From that point on it only seams to bother him every once in a while. But then last night and today it seams to be getting worse he is complaining about it a lot more! I watch him though and he is using it and bending it, and then all of the sudden he'll scream and say ouch my arm.

I don't know what to think? Josh is now out of town working till Thursday and so here I am trying to decide what to do. I hate it when you rush them down there thinking the worst and they look at you like a crazy mom and say, yep he hurt it, and it's going to take awhile for the bruising to go away! But at the same time knowing this kid it will be broken and months down the rode it will have healed wrong and I would have wished I would have just taken him in!

I did call and talk to Josh, he said he thinks he is fine. That I should just wait it out! So I guess for now that is what we will do. I just wish moms came with there own ex ray machines!Anybody have any suggestions?

Candy Necklaces!

For some reason I am in a total craft mood lately. Maybe it is because I'm home all day with the kids and so I'm always looking for fun things that we can do together so we both don't pull all our hair out!

The other day at Target I found this candy necklace making kit. It made 8 necklaces, and I knew my kids would love it. Seriously, who ever thought of candy necklaces was a genius! I truly think that Rylenn thought she had died and gone to heaven. The two things she loves the most, being girly (jewelry) and sweets. So put them together and you've got a candy necklace! Perfection!

So before bed one night we got them out and had a blast making candy necklaces! This picture makes me laugh because both Rylenn and Tucker look like they have chubby cheeks! We can only wish for chub on those two!

Finding Easter Baskets

Easter was a little different this year. My brother Cameron had his homecoming on Easter Sunday so the Easter Bunny decided that because we didn't have much time that he would just hide the kids Easter baskets and let them look for them. This was about all the Easter stuff we did this year, other then coloring eggs. We just had to much going on! And for the first time ever I didn't get my girls Easter dresses or Tucker a new Sunday outfit. With things being so tight I just decided that it wasn't something that we absolutely needed right now. And with 3 girls dresses can get really expensive. So Easter felt a little different but we still had a good time!

We had to wake all the kids up so we would have enough time for them to find their Easter baskets and to also get ready for church and head into town for Uncle Cam's homecoming! They look a little sleepy eyed but they are excited to find those baskets, and yes they did sleep in there clothes from the day before, it was really late when we got home and they had all fallen asleep in the car, so we just carried them up to bed!

Haydenn is in awe of all the stuff the Easter bunny brought her! I love her chub chub hanging out, I hope she keeps it for a long time!Rylenn was not quite sure what was going on. But a basket full of candy and toys, I don't think she really cares!The older the kid gets the harder it is to find your basket. Tucker found his in the hall closet! Tucker was such a good sport, he had not been feeling good and when I told him that he wasn't going to be able to go to church, he was quite upset. The feeling soon changed when he realized that meant he could stay home and play in his Easter basket all day!Emmy's was the hardest to find, but she kept at it and finally found it in the dryer, silly rabbit dryers are for clothes!

The Easter Bunny usually leaves the kids sunglasses every year, who would have thought that would have been Haydenns favorite thing!

Even though it was a little different, we had a very good Easter. Cameron did an amazing job on his talk in church! I can't believe how much he has changed I couldn't ask for a better example to my kids! I know that he went through a lot while he was out on his mission but I grateful to a Heavenly Father who is mind full of our needs and is always there watching out for us!

Later that day Me, Emmy and Rylenn spent the afternoon with family and friends eating lunch at my sister Brandi's house! Josh was such a good husband and stayed home with Tucker and Haydenn so I could go and listen to my brother!

Easter Eggs!

I know that I'm a little behind but I wanted to get this done for journaling!

We had such a blast this year coloring Easter eggs! Just like always we dipped them in the dye colored them with the magical white crayon and ooohed and awwwed over them for hours!

Returning with Honor!

This post is a little bitter sweet! The last of my 3 brothers came home from serving his mission in Peru. Although I'm so glad that he is home, I am very sad that I no longer have a brother that is serving a mission! I have 3 brothers right in a row so for the last 6 years there has always been a missionary out there. We are so proud of Cameron and the good missionary he was! I will forever be grateful to all of my brothers for setting such a good example to my kids! It creates such a unique opportunity when you have to explain where their Uncle will be for the next 2 years and what they will be doing! Even though I am a little sad, I am so glad to have everyone home! Cam is such a good Uncle and my kids love him to death! Emmy and Tucker holding their welcome home sign. The only thing Cam wanted when he got off the plane was a twix bar. So we made sure he had plenty of those!
