The perfect cure!

To help with those Monday morning woe's me and Tucker made a big batch of sticky popcorn. One of our favorite treats. It's super easy and really yummy!! Here is the recipe for anyone that might also be looking for an escape from Monday chores!

2 bags of microwave popcorn

1 cube of butter

1cup sugar

1/4 cup Karo

2 tsp of Vanilla

Pop the popcorn a head of time. Bring everything else to a boil, just long enough for the sugar to dissolve. Pour over the popcorn and stir. The mixture will thicken as it cools so every once in awhile stir again so it doesn't all end up on the bottom of the bowl, keep stirring until it is really sticky and you can't stir anymore. And there you have it
THE PERFECT CURE! Enjoy

Monday Morning Drag!

Sorry for the vent, but I hate Monday mornings! It seems like no matter how hard I try to keep the house clean through out the weekend it is always a disaster Monday morning. WHY? I can't figure it out. I use to think that maybe it was because Josh was home and so everything and everyone was just out of our normal weekday schedule and maybe that is it, not that it is Josh's fault or anything. I think it is a little bit of us all. I just wish I could get a handle on it, it would make the rest of my week go so much easier! So for now I hate Monday mornings!!! end of vent!

Morning Bliss!

This morning when we got home from taking Emmy to school, we realized that our house had been invaded with bears, dinosaurs and bad guys. Quickly we made Lego guns and circled the house killing everything that resembled a bad guy. After awhile we realized that there was to many for us to fight off so we built a hide out, Only to come out to shoot if we had super super bullets that could kill everything in the room. Our morning battle came to a end when our fellow hunter Haydenn needed some replenishment. Well morning chores didn't get done but as long as we've got snow bullets and fire bullets to protect us I think we will be all right! Oh the joys of a 4 year old, what more could you ask for!!!

ASU! ASU! ASU!

Well it is that time of year again. Football, Football, and more Football. I like to tease Josh that he is an addict. No he doesn't like Pro, He would much rather prefer College or even High School! Every Friday night you can find Josh at a football game and it doesn't even matter who is playing. Since moving to Coolidge we have now become the first arrivers to all of their Friday night games (Go Bears!) But if the Bears have an away game or a game that isn't worth traveling to, he will find one that is worth watching. And then he is up till at least midnight listening to all the reports of all the other games he missed or he'll even stay up to listen to the report of the game he was just at, Why? nobody knows! Don't get me wrong I love a good football game, But when I've never even heard of the school that is playing, I think I'll pass! Well this year we got season tickets to ASU (Go Sun devils!). If you can't beat em join em, right! I love going to the games with Josh we have a blast! All of Josh's family also got tickets, well this last week Josh's parents couldn't make it to the game so we were able to take Emmy and Tucker! They loved it! I think we will make this one a family tradition!

Enjoying the game!

Welcome to Tortuga!

BROWN REUNION 2008

This year the Brown reunion was done by my very talented Aunt who did everything in a Pirate theme! We had a blast! We played pirate games, went on a treasure hunt, had a pretty pirate contest, ate good food, and just had an aw-some time with family! You can now ask Rylenn what does a pirate say and she'll tell ya RRRRRRRRR! We look forward to the Brown Reunion every year and I'm sad that is it over but look forward to next year! Here are the pics!

Tucker (Pirate name: Flintlock) Ry (Pirate name: Rotten Hand) and Emmy (Pirate name: Bloody silk). They were waiting to get their pirate names and be sworn in to the pirate code of honor so they wouldn't have to walk the plank!

My little sister Sawyer and Tucker hiding in the flowers while playing capture the flag! I think they ended up winning!

While the older kids played capture the flag Ry batted her big blues at Uncle Rhett and he let her ride Ol Doc! The problem came when we tried to get her off!
Rylenn and cousin Koley sharing rocks. Hey as long as they are happy right!

This is the crew from pirate ship TROUBLE! J/K. Look at them just hanging out in the front door way of the barn! They had so much fun together all weekend! These are some of Rylenns cousins that are her age! Shay, Shelby, Rylenn and Koley Aren't they so cute!

Tucker and Emmy as they try to pop each others "Ball and Chain"

Rylenn or Rotten Hand (such a perfect name for her) got caught stealing a tomato out of my Aunt RayAnns stuff. RayAnn had picked it out of her garden and brought it so they could eat it on their sand witches. But I'm blaming this one on my Mother in-Law, she has a whole tomato garden with full size tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and grape tomatoes that are all dedicated to her grand kids. The just go by when ever they want and take a tomato and eat it like an apple, so this was really no big deal to her! But they all thought it was funny!
Rylenn Rotten hand in all her pirate glory!

Captain Tucker Flintlock

This is my cousin Bauer who received his mission call while we were at the reunion. So Sunday night we all gathered around and watched him open his call. He will be serving in the Birmingham, Alabama mission. Congrats Bauer we are all so proud and excited for you, you will be an aw some missionary!

Papa with Bryte and Rylenn. Bryte was really asleep but Ry couldn't stand being left out so she climbed up there and was pretending to be asleep until she saw the camera come out and then she was all smiles!

This is all the crew on trash duty! Every year there is a competition between the girl grand kids and the boy grand kids to see who can pick up the most trash. My Aunt Shelly collects dollar bills from all the parents and the divides it up between the winners. Strangely enough the kids look forward to this every year, they get way into it. Maybe because they know there will be money in the end. This year the girls won and all the girls got $3 and as a consolation prize each of the boys got $2.

Tucker on trash duty!

Sorry this is so long but I have a couple of cousins and a brother that weren't able to be there this year and wanted to see it all. Plus I use this for my journal, so sorry!

Donate to Nie Nie

I'm sure most of you have read about the tragic accident that happened to Stephanie and Christian Nielson. They were in a small plane crash and have sustained life threatening burn injuries. If you haven't read their story you can read all the updates on cjanerun, or click on the button on the side bar. Christian was a guy I went to high school with, and was our senior class president. My heart is just acking for his family! Please keep them in your prayers! and donate to their fund to help pay for the medical bills. Just think of the miracle that could acure if everyone donated just a small amount and if everyone told their story. So please put there button on your blog and help spread the word! It is at times like this that makes us reflect on our own family and how grateful we are to have them!

FFF (Favorite Foto Friday)!

I've seen this on my friends blog and love the idea of a favorite foto Friday, but I always forget to do it. But today I remembered so here it is!

Since we have moved to Coolidge we have been blessed with some really great friends! Friends that will last a life time! This picture is of Jay and Joann Wahl with Emmy and Tucker in Greer. There were sitting by the lake watching the fish jump out of the water as we were throwing them some food. I Love this picture I think it is price less. But other then just the picture these four have been the best of friends since the day we moved in, well actually before we moved in we met them at a play group and have been attached to this family ever since. The best part is that they have a daughter Emmy's age (Joann) a boy Tuckers age (Jay) and another daughter Rylenns age (Savanna). When I found out I was pregnant again after Ry I begged Deanne to get pregnant to, we couldn't break the trend, but she wasn't going for it ( I can't imagine why!). I am just so grateful for good friends! When our wards split everyone told us our friendship would to, and even though we don't see each other quit as often I know I can always call on them and they will be there in a heart beat. And I love when we do get to see each other we pick up right where we left off! We love you guys and hope that our friendship lasts forever! Here are some of my favorite pics of the kids!

Emmy and Joann on Christmas!

And the Wordls Best Dad ever is.......

JOSH! Yes we do have the worlds best dad! The other day Josh came home from work with 6 frogs that he had caught for the kids. He had just found them at his job site. The funny thing is, that Josh hates the things. When he first got home the kids were wanting to hold them and play with them and that just wigged him out. He could barely even look at them. When I asked him how he caught them he said that he just got a really big cup and waited for them to jump in. Ha Ha Ha! It makes the kids laugh that he won't even touch them. I love animals! All growing up my Dad would always be bringing something else home for us, from rabbits to pigeons to snakes to tarantulas to what ever he thought we would enjoy. So when my kids starting getting old enough to enjoy pets I begged Josh to let Emmy get a rabbit. He said no way no how! He only likes animals that "have use" like cows or horses. Don't ask me what the use of a cow is? But that is about as far as he goes. He loves our dog Zoey but I don't know if he would admit it. So when he brought the frogs home it just made me smile because I know that he was hating every minute of it, but he knew his kids would have a blast! Then a couple of days went by and one by one the frogs were jumping out and getting away. Luckily we kept them outside. Well one day we went out to check on them and they were all gone. It was a sad day! and that night at family prayers Tucker prayed that Dad could be brave and bring home some more frogs. The next day Dad showed up with 4 new frogs. WOW! What a great dad! We love him so much!
