We have a teenager ! ! ! ! !

Happy Birthday Emmy
Today we hit a mile stone, one I have to confuse I wan't really looking forward to. Although I always love to celebrate Emmy's birthday I have been apprehensive about having a teenager ever since I became a mom! I have always said I would take chasing my little kids around all day long over having a teenage attitude. But as we have gotten closer to this teenager thing I have come to realize that I have been blessed with a pretty good one who I think will ease me into it.  Although I'm sure there will be times down the road where I want to pull my hair out for right now I'm totally enjoying my new teenager. I love watching her with her new found freedom that comes with JH. I love watching her make choices because she wants to make them and not because I'm standing right there telling her she needs to. I even love talking to her about the boy she has a crush on. So for now, I say, bring it on! I'm totally looking forward to this new milestone in our lives and thanks Em for making it not so rough (not yet at least ;)

 So pretty! I caught myself so many times today just looking at her and thinking holy cow she is so grown up! I would always laugh at me kids when they would wake up on their birthday and ask me if they looked taller. I would just laugh and say yep you look just like a _____ year old. But today I feel like it has really happened. When she woke up this morning she grew, or matured or something but holy cow I feel like I blinked. 

 Happy Birthday dear Emmy! I hope your wish for this year comes true. We are so blessed to have you in our home. You are the perfect oldest child! Such a good example and a huge help with the younger ones! I love you!

24th of July Parade

24th of July 2015
Pima was the town in charge of the 24th celebration this year and it was a blast. Friday was the family rodeo, then Saturday we all got together to celebrate with a parade and then over to the football field for a family dinner, pioneer program and finish off with fireworks.

 Our ward's float with Emmy riding on it. The theme was catching the dream. They built a huge dream catcher with their dreams (temple) on the other side.

I don't know why but I didn't take any pictures of the family dinner or the fireworks. We sure had a great weekend spending time celebrating our pioneer ancestors and being together as a family! Already looking forward to next year!

 Steve cracked us up. There was so many kids that they made 2 piles of boots and 2 groups of kids. Well Steve put her boot in one pile and then ran to the other. So she never found her boot. Finally after all the kids from the other side were done someone brought over the lonely boot that was left. :)

 Every year it's a tradition, after the parade to take family pics under the apple tree. But this year it was pouring rain so we had to settle for pics in the garage. But I guess it's better then nothing.
